Professor Javier Eduardo Ferrari Ayarragaray obtained his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires, where he also coursed his residence training in general and cardiac surgery. 
Additionally, he obtained a doctoral degree in Cardiovascular Surgery from the University of Buenos Aires, and currently he contributes to the academic life the University of Buenos Aires with his work as of professor in cardiac surgery. Prof. Ferrari Ayarragaray is the Past- President of the Argentine Society of Angiology and Cardiovascular Surgery and is the current President of the Argentine College of Cardiovascular Surgeons (Colegio Argentino de Cirujanos Cardiovasculares). He is fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of Argentine Association of Surgery, the Society of Heart Valve Society (SHVD-HVS), the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and the Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS).
